John Shonyo: Oronoco Township, MN, United States; Bee's Knees Honey Farm: I am chief (and only) beekeeper for Bee's Knees Honey Farm. I am in my fifth beekeeping season, and feel comfortable dealing with tens of thousands of these critters. My goal is to keep this an interesting hobby and maybe earn a couple of bucks selling surplus honey, so I plan on having fun with the "girls" (aka bees). We do not medicate our bees, so our honey consists of only what our bees decide they want to bring back to the hive. It is a light honey, which reflects that much of the nectar comes from our basswood and black locust trees. I am also to the point where I am comfortable with mentoring any new beekeepers--so let me know if you are interested in getting into the bee biz.
